Vital Info for RPing!!!

Our World

Is set in an Alternate Universe. Very similar to the concept of Parallel planes, this “Earth” includes all species of interesting creatures; the stuff of myth and legend comes alive in this world, which also includes the same countries, cultures, faults, and fancies of our Earth.

Our Chateau

The Chateau Chillon, a fantastic landmark of Switzerland, is where our game unfolds. Situated on the edge of Lake Geneva, with the same geography and architectural structure as our own Chillon (though perhaps a bit more stably structured), the Chateau is surrounded by the beautiful vineyards of the "Clos de Chillon" which marks the limit of two famous vine regions: the Lavaux and the Chablais vaudois (don’t be surprised to find Eris hanging around the vineyards, which’re perfectly located between lake and mountains).

You are allowed to role play around the chateau, the vineyards, and the lake path leading to the Chateau – however, do not stray to Montreux, the Swiss City three kilometers down the lake path, on your own or without approval from a founder or several other RPers present. The library windows overlook the garden which has its own small fountain and a maze.

Structure

Our Chateau is structured very similar to an expensive hotel – long watch hallways, the wooden railed, open, ceiling-ed corridors supported by oak beams, views of cobbled roof prevailing throughout… These are the corridors leading to separate Suites – the number of the suit located on the beamed ceiling, an antique door opening to the entrance of the suit. Luckily for us, our Alternate Universe hosts Harry Potter-like phenomena – the entrances and rooms look small from the outside, yet once inside, a large bathroom complete with Jacuzzi, bedroom with king sized bed and modern furniture with an 19th century feel fit perfectly. Often the rooms overlook a courtyard (the West Suits have the luxury view of Lake Geneva and a peek of the Alps), though the vineyards are visible from the East Suits. Peek into the Chateau for more pictures and settings if you need help with the structure of the chateau or want a precise image of what you're rping.

There are approximately 70 suites in the chateau, each having its own secluded corner or branch of the main Watch Corridor, and a view of either Montreux, the Lake, the Vineyards, the Mountain, a courtyard, and almost all the roof.

The kitchen is off limits to tourists and residents, and food is served in the Dining Room off the Tenant's Hall, which overlooks the lake to the West, can be brought up to the suites. The workers are several very mechanical-looking butlers and maids, who cook and clean and don't do much talking. (Applying for jobs would have to be IC and to Eris or Viktor...) The Tenant’s Hall (also called the living room), which has windows overlooking the Lake, leads into the Fencing Room, a hall specifically designed for sparring with three walls lined in mats and one covered with a wide array of weaponry. The Southernmost room is the Library, a quaint wooden room with shelves upon shelves of dusty tomes which require ladders to access (the library overlooks the garden). The castle has several relaxing courtyards, each of which are overlooked by plenty of windows and have several layers of roof (convenient for eavesdropping).

The Hotel Chillon, which the owner of the Chateau, Monsieur Lathron, established, provides many luxuries for its wealthy guests. Apart from the lavishly decorated rooms, the bar where they sell the local Clos de Chillon wine, and delicious cuisine, the Hotel also provides a spa, which is found through a balcony door, if opened with the right key. (Matrix-like phenomena in our world, too - think opening same door with different keys/without will get you to different places). This one leads you to a large, open series of rooms, Japanese styled (think Miyazaki's Spirited Away bathhouse), with chambers that include swimming pools, steam rooms, saunas, whirlpools, and massage tables. Japanese geishas mind the sauna and attend to your every need.

History of the Real Chateau Chillon

Occupying a stunning position right on Lake Geneva(and surrounded by a moat ), the fortress caught the public imagination when Lord Byron wrote about the fate of Bonivard, a follower of the Reformation who was chained to the fifth pillar in the dungeons for four years in the 16th century. Byron etched his own name on the third pillar. The castle, still in excellent condition, dates from the 11th century and has been much modified and enlarged since then. It's worth spending an afternoon viewing the tower, courtyards, dungeons and numerous rooms containing weapons, utensils, frescos and Tupperware. The castle is located within walking distance of Montreux, the centrepiece of the Swiss Riviera.
